Multitouch

Multi-touch refers to a method of interacting with a touch screen where multiple touch points and simultaneous movements can be recognized and used to navigate the screen or manipulate objects (such as arranging a series of images) on the screen. Different combinations of two or more fingers can be used to make control gestures. For example, a user can enlarge an image by placing their thumb and forefinger on the touch screen and then moving them apart. To zoom out, the user must move the same assembly with a pinch.
